We are on a mission to provide the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and cloud-based smart energymanagement solutions that help our customers to improve availability and productivity of their electrical assets, reduce downtime and maintenance costs, reduce distribution losses and energy consumption, and improve performance and efficiency,"says Pallav Gandhi, Partner, HKRP Innovations.
What was the prime motivation behind launching HKRP? The Indian electricity grid is going through various transformational changes linked to the initiatives taken bythe Government of India for renewable energy, reduction in distribution losses, improvement in the availability of supply, better services to consumers and energy efficiency. This will lead to the implementation of multiple smart energy management solutions that enable existing grid infrastructure for bidirectional fl ow of power as well as communication, i.e., converting it into a smart grid.
What market segments are you currently servicing?
We are on a mission to provide the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and cloud-based smart energy management solutions that help our customers to improve availability and productivity of their electrical assets, reduce downtime and maintenance costs, reduce distribution losses and energy consumption, and improve performance and efficiency. We are doing this by providing them better visibility of geographically distributed assets using IIoT communication, notifications on various events using EDGE computing technologies, automated operations using embedded SCADA and Artifi cial Intelligence (AI), energy accounting, and auditing and analysis using cloud and big data technologies. In one of our key projects, we have implemented the entire smart grid platform using IIoT and cloud technologies for more than 80 feeders, 1,500 transformers and 5,000 consumers for Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL) as a part of the SuryashaktiKisanYojna (SKY) scheme. This has helped distribution companies to monitor sub-station feeders, distribution transformers and prosumers on a single platform as well as reduce losses by more than 10%.
How are you leveraging new disruptive technologies like IoT and AI in your solutions?
Currently, we are providing various smart energy management solutions for smart grid, smart renewable energy, smart city and smart machines, which covers the entire bandwidth starting from generation, transmission, distribution, prosumer service connection to heavy equipment and machines as a load.Across India, we have deployed more than 10,000 industrial IoT-based solutions and are monitoring more than 3 million parameters of various solar MW plants, windmills, power transformers, substations, distribution feeders, distribution transformers, ring mains units, packed substations, gridconnected solar pumps and rooftop solar plants, outdoor lighting services and heavy equipment such as cranes, oil well, etc.
How are you contributing to Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat?
All our technologies, products and solutions are designed, developed and manufactured in India giving a boost to Make in India and the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan. With the help of Make in India products, advanced technologies and a highly experienced team, we have disrupted the market by off ering our solutions in the product as a service (PaaS) model that eliminates the need for huge upfront investments for the digitalisation of electrical systems and provides best quality products as well as services due to subscription-based payment against the availability of data.
