India Infrastructure Summit

Event  /  Jan 01, 2016

The seventh edition of the event will bring together various stakeholders in a dialogue designed to address key challenges and issues.

India´s growing population and expanding economy have put immense pressure on its existing infrastructure. Realising this, the government has initiated several measures for reviving and building a world-class transport infrastructure in the country. It has undertaken several policy and regulatory reforms to create a conducive environment for attracting investments and accelerating the implementation of infrastructure projects. Against this backdrop, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) is organising the seventh edition of the India Infrastructure Summit on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Federation House, New Delhi.

India Infrastructure Summit is the largest platform for policy debate relating to infrastructure in India. It brings together central and state government officials, key policy-makers, regulators, leading infrastructure developers, contractors, investors and financial institutions and other stakeholders in a dialogue designed to address key challenges and issues facing infrastructure in the country. In earlier editions, it was addressed by eminent speakers like Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways and Shipping; Former Union Ministers for Road Transport & Highways including Kamal Nath and Dr CP Joshi; Dr Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission, among others. The summit will discuss and highlight issues pertaining to infrastructure projects and provide a platform for seeking inputs from stakeholders. It will deliberate upon the measures necessary for accelerating the pace of infrastructure development. It will provide a platform to elicit industry inputs for developing a sustainable and efficient multi-modal transport network in the country.

Agree. Developing a domestic transshipment port is a good idea if we talk about seaports, there are several countries and commercial centers around the world that don’t have a seaport and these countries have to use the seaports of other countries in order to import or export their cargo, which will give a competitive advantage.
