Working at a breakneck speed to kickstart the economy, the Narendra Modi-led BJP Government is looking to give a big boost to the infrastructure sector. And in one of the first few steps to achieve that, the new Government has cleared seven projects worth Rs 21,000 crore, recently.

Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar said that his ministry would take up the project of building a road along Mumbai's Western sea fronton priority. He further claimed he will discuss vital projects affecting the city with Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan.

A 300-MW hydroelectric power project in Uttarakhand received environmental clearance from the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF). The project is located in the Upper Yamuna River Basin in Dehradun district. It will produce 612.93 million units of electricity every year.
