For the first time, the Visakhapatnam Port Trust (VPT) has handled a Panamax Merchant ship ‘mv WEIHE’ at night. It is big step for the port in achieving 24×7 mechanised operations, sources concerned said in Visakhapatnam on September 23.
The sources added that the development in VPT is considered a good sign for its business. For the 1st time a Panamax vessel mv WEIHE was berthed at EQ-8 of Vizag Seaport Private Limited (VSPL) after the day hours.The Panamax ship brought imported coking coal for Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL).
