The country’s largest integrated power utility, Tata Power on Thursday announced the takeover of the management and operations of Odisha-based power distribution utilities WESCO and SOUTHCO upon completion of the sale process.

Central Electricity Supply Utility of Orissa (Cesu), Northern Electricity Supply Company of Orissa (Nesco), Southern Electricity Supply Company of Orissa (Southo) and Western Electricity Supply Company of Orissa (Wesco) have together invested Rs 1,425.58 crore on capital expenditure since the privatisation of electricity distribution in the state.
