The Kerala government has decided to give Kochi Metro Rail Ltd (KMRL) the authority for direct purchase of land for the project. This was decided at a high-level review meeting headed by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and attended by Ministers and senior KMRL officials. According to a statement issued by KMRL, Rs 70 crore will be made available for land acquisition immediately for the widening of the Vyttila-Petta stretch.
