Santanu Das is the Senior Vice President, Design & Simulation at Bentley Software. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Southern California in 1995 and was awarded a full graduate scholarship to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he taught numerical methods and object-oriented programming to engineers.
In 1997, Das joined Research Engineers International as a senior programmer and helped transform the world-renowned STAAD structural line of products into an open architecture platform where other applications could seamlessly integrate. He helped start a new document collaboration and ASP company for engineers called Web4 in 2000 and became Chief Operating Officer of netGuru, a publically listed company, in 2003.
After selling Research Engineers to Bentley Systems in 2005 and Web4 to another public company in 2006, Das currently serves as Senior Vice President of the Design and Simulation group at Bentley Systems where he manages over $300 MM in revenues.
In his spare time, Santanu loves to play competitive tennis, snowboard, and spend time fishing with his two boys.
