Global Freight Logistics Provider Kuehne+Nagel Launches AI-Enabled Road Logistics Platform in India

Global Freight Logistics Provider Kuehne+Nagel Launches AI-Enabled Road Logistics Platform in India

Web Exclusive  /  Jul 09, 2020

Leading global freight logistics provider Kuehne+Nagel has launched its artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled road logistics platform eTrucknow in India at a webinar on Thursday.

The platform in.eTrucknow.com helps bridge the supply and demand of road logistics via a digital marketplace, offering customers a faster way to book trucks and carriers an easier way to unlock business opportunities.

With eTrucknow, shippers get access to a simplified quotation and booking process for domestic road logistics shipments. Once the shipper provides the shipment details, the AI-enabled engine streamlines and automates the quotation comparison process by validating multiple data points and presents the customer with the most competitive quotation and route.

The webinar was hosted by Chellan Ganesan, Senior Vice President Road Logistics Asia Pacific, Peer Rasmussen, Managing Director, India, Sri Lanka & Maldives, Sachin Hinwar, National Manager, Road Logistics, India, BS Yadav, Senior Manager, Road Logistics, Digitisation and Yuvraj Sharma, National Sales and Marketing Manager, India. Over 100 vendors and distributors from across the country also participated in the event to discuss the way forward for the organisation.

The top officials of Kuehne+Nagel spoke at length about the prominent distinguishing features of the digital platform and explained how it significantly improves customer experience through a seamless digital journey.

“The intuitive and easy-to-use digital solution has been developed based on our customers’ needs and market trends. The platform’s functionalities are continuously evolving to create an optimal customer experience from an ad-hoc shipment to the regular large volume of shipments,” said Ganesan.

“The platform gives a competitive advantage to our customers, helps them to transport their valuable products across India through our digital platform with its easy to use functionalities, end-to-end visibility, digitised documentation and enhanced customer serviceability. The platform is a further step forward in Kuehne+Nagel’s digital transformation process and an initiative to establish a seamless digital customer journey,” observed Rasmussen.

The platform overcomes the challenges of long waiting times to get a quote as well as the challenge of dealing with unreliable carriers. It not only allows for an instant quote but also ensures constant visibility of shipment status. Real-time visibility, an important concern of customers and carriers, especially in the fragmented Indian market, is a key feature of eTrucknow. This will allow shippers and carriers to know where their shipments or drivers are through the platform’s real-time track and trace capabilities. One-time shippers will receive standard visibility with pro-active service alerts on delivery milestones.

The platform also allows a 360-degree view of in-transit cargo, multi-delivery and multi-pickup facility, and has no limitation of destination. The application has been developed keeping in mind the requirements of the Indian market with multi-sensor widget management.

Three Lines Shipping says:
Agree. Developing a domestic transshipment port is a good idea if we talk about seaports, there are several countries and commercial centers around the world that don’t have a seaport and these countries have to use the seaports of other countries in order to import or export their cargo, which will give a competitive advantage.
