In Jaipur, most roads which are in a dilapidated condition are expected to be repaired this year as the Jaipur Municipal Corporation's (JMC) finance committee has proposed Rs 1 crore for repair works in each ward in the budget 2013-14.
The JMC's budget was scheduled to be presented on February 12. JMC finance committee Chairman Nita Khetan said that seeing the dismal condition of roads in each ward, a proposal has been prepared to repair them soon. So far, lack of funds has been cited as the reason by JMC for not repairing the roads.
Counsellor of ward number 10, Mohini Kanwar, said that for the past six months, work orders were not issued. She said that the condition of roads in her ward was very pathetic. JMC was supposed to present Rs 1,056 crore budget for 2013-14.
