The State Govt of Odisha has approved five investment proposals in sectors like metal, food processing, and logistics & infrastructure worth over Rs. 68.87 million in the 92nd State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) meeting on Monday.
The proposals are expected to generate direct employment for nearly 1,500 people.
The investment proposals got the go-ahead at an SLSWCA meeting chaired by the state Chief Secretary Asit Kumar Tripathy at Lok Seva Bhawan in the capital Bhubaneswar, wherein Hemant Sharma, Principal Secretary, Industries outlined the project proposals for consideration.
In a big boost to the state’s metal downstream sector, Reliable Sponge Pvt. Ltd is planning to set up an iron ore beneficiation plant of 2.5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) and a pellet plant of 2.0 MTPA, with an investment of Rs 2.5 billion and providing employment to about 250 people.
Growel Feeds Pvt. Ltd. will be setting up a shrimp and prawn feed and fish feed manufacturing facility, with an investment of Rs 658.2 million of capacity providing employment opportunities for 700 people.
In the logistics & infrastructure sector, Sravan Shipping Services Pvt. Ltd. will be setting up a logistics park at Jadupur (Mahakalapada Block) Kendrapada District, with a total investment of Rs 1 billion and employing around additional 250 people.
Chilika Distilleries Pvt. Ltd proposes to set up 110 kilolitres per day (KLPD) grain-based distillery plant, with an investment of Rs 999.7 million. The project will provide employment to 170 people.
SOM Distilleries & Breweries Odisha Pvt. Ltd. is looking at setting up 120 KLPD capacity grain-based distillery at an investment of Rs 930 million and it will provide employment opportunities for 126 people.
