After a draw of lots, officials from the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) announced that 13,763 applications for 415 residential plots near the under-construction Jewar International Airport were selected.

The number of applications received was 33 times the number of plots available. Plots ranging in size from 300 to 4,000 square metres were included in the draw by the authorities in sectors 16, 17, 18, 20, and 22D.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone on November 25, 2021 of the Noida International Airport (NIA) in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh.

The airport will be spread across 5,000 acres of land along the Yamuna Expressway.

The first phase of the airport’s development, estimated to cost Rs 10,050 crore, is projected to be finished by 2024. Once completed, the airport will be able to handle 1.2 million people per year.
