To de-congest traffic on Mysore Road in Bangalore, a section of the busy main road will be made into a one-way. The BBMP is in the final stages of construction of a ramp over the drain near Gali Anjaneya Temple which joins Mysore Road from Chord Road.
The traffic police will designate the stretch between Gali Anjaneya Temple and Kimco Factory on Mysore Road as a one-way to ease traffic flow. The BBMP has said that work will be completed before February last week and traffic police are taking up measures to shift traffic to alternative roads. Once the ramp is ready, traffic will move towards Mysore in the one-way direction. Vehicles reaching city from Mysore will have to take the ramp.
Bangalore traffic police said that Mysore Road is currently under pressure as multiple government agencies have taken up infrastructure work. Along with Metro and construction of flyover, the road is also due for widening since the last four years. This has resulted in increase in traffic volume on Mysore Road and hence a decision to convert a small stretch of Mysore Road into a one-way.
