In Mysore, the ongoing widening work of Dhanvantri Road, which connects many key roads and is bustling with commercial activities, has turned the road into a mess.
Motorists are finding it difficult to navigate past this busy road due to the haphazard parking of vehicles on both sides of the road.
Motorists, who want to visit Devaraj market and KR Hospital, have to take a circuitous route through residential areas where little children are found playing on the roads. Dhanvantri Road is an important landmark in the city and connects JLB Road with Sayyaji Rao Road.
To the east end of Dhanvantri Road are Devaraja Market and KR Hospital, while the west end joins JLB Road near Mysore railway station. Vehicular movement on the road is heavy. Many visitors to KR Hospital park their vehicle haphazardly and traffic police’s Tiger vehicles, which used to come around to pick up vehicles parked thus, has stopped after commencement of work, Rajanna pointed.
Due to the widening work motorists take a deviation through residential areas to reach Devaraja Market. As a result, children play on the lane most of time and the movement of vehicles is a threat to the kids, complain the area residents.
