The Kerala State Cabinet on June 12 gave its approval to an ambitious project to develop 22 new roads/flyovers in various parts of the state and the State capital Thiruvananthapuram. Flyovers will be built at Palarivattom, Vytilla and Kundanoor on the Edapally-Aroor stretch of the National Highway and at Kalamaserry Apollo junction, as part of the project. The Cabinet also sanctioned Rs 5 crore to the Horticulture Department for intervening in the open market to contain the rise in prices of essential commodities.

Fourteen ITI projects have been earmarked for private partnership and 87 posts have been created for this purpose. Posts of three professors, four associate professors and 15 assistant professors have been approved for the Thunchath Ezhuthachan Malayalam University. Pay of employees serving in the Kerala Urban Development Finance Corporation will be revised.

For the Adyanpara small-scale hydro electric project, 1.6 hectares of land in Chaliyar panchayat in Nilambur taluk will be handed over to the KSEB.
