In Bangalore, the state of Suranjandas Road is in a pathetic condition. The road connects two main roads-Old Airport Road and Old Madras Road. Due to the potholes, deep pits dug up on either side of the 4-km stretch, vehicle users are avoiding to use the road.
Residents on the stretch face more difficulties as it is inevitable to use the road. The sluggish pace of work on the road widening project that started in July 2011
has not yet been completed.
Because of the ongoing work phone and internet connections have been cut off. BSNL landline connections had been “dead” for three weeks due to the road work. To top it all, it is not just people who have had to bear with the long delayed project. Fully mature trees that made the area cooler than the others once upon a time have had to face the axe.
