Pawan Mathur, Director (Water & Heat Sector) Itron, has a total experience of over 19 years with leading Indian and multinational companies. He has previ¡ou¡sly worked with companies into water sector like Kirloskar Brothers for Industrial pump division and later Jindal Saw for their Ductile Iron pipe business.
A graduate in Mechanical Engineering and Post Graduate in management, Mathur joined Itron in 2007 and since past five years, he has been instrumental for growth over these years in water business. During this period, Itron decided to set up a state-of-the-art manufacturing and testing facility at Dehradun for water meters and establish a strong distributor network to span major cities in India. Under his leadership, Itron has part¡ne¡red with leading infrastructure companies.
He also took initiatives to communicate the need of water metering and importance of using quality measuring instruments to utilities and industries through various platforms across India. In a conservative and price driven water management market like India, he has encouraged customers to adopt modern technologies like Automated Meter Reading System (AMR) and Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and demonstrated efficiency improvement and better water management to customers.
The first AMR project in India in challenging environmental conditions of Mumbai is being executed with Itron’s support and the same is now being replicated at other metros like Navi Mumbai.
