The Karnataka Muzrai Department has scrapped its plan to construct a road in Bangalore, which would have drastically shrunk the Vasanthapura kalyani (temple tank) in the city. Local residents had opposed the road project, which would result in shrinking of the Vasanthapura kalyani (temple tank).
Bangalore, the garden city of India, was also once known for its large number of lakes. But now they have been made way for the urbanisation.
