The telecom equipment market is set to increase by nearly $30 billion between 2013 and 2018, according to a report by Dell´Oro Group. The report said the service provider equipment markets will grow at a CAGR of 2 per cent between 2013 and 2018 against one per cent CAGR dip between 2008 and 2013. In 2013, the estimated market size of the telecom equipment was around $80 billion. Between 2013 and 2018, primary growth will come from wireline and not wireless. The global telecom service provider telecom equipment market includes access, carrier IP telephony, microwave, mobile RAN, optical, SP routers, SP Wi-Fi, and wireless packet core. Wireless and wireline telecom markets will grow at a CAGR of one per cent and 3 per cent, respectively between 2013 and 2018.
