A Visionary

CP Gupta, the Managing Director of Ambica Steels Ltd, is a self-made man who re-established the brand Ambica in the year 1995. Under his able guidance, over the past 25 years, the company has gone from strength to strength. At Ambica, he provides strong leadership to the team with decades of experience and looks after some vital functions of the company, mainly raw materials, finance, and administration. He envisions Ambica as an institute in speciality materials´ production and development to cater to the growing needs of our developing country and the world.

Being an entrepreneur is however, a rewarding experience. When a person puts in all the hours towards a vision with sheer determination, the time spent in learning teaches invaluable lessons of life. Gupta also learnt certain valuable lessons while working with his father in a grain mill. He was more of a multi-thinker and a multi-talented personality rather than just being involved in a family business. He always kept his eye open for better opportunities. In 1969, he came up with a concept and pretty quickly, he started thinking about a name, logo, and business plan for the stainless steel market.

In 1970, Gupta founded a small unit with an employee strength of 50-100 people. From one small foundry, Ambica has emerged as an integrated steel producer, located over one million sq ft area and has expanded its operations across the globe.
