Mattannur, a grade-3 municipality in Kannur district, located 25 km east of the district headquarters, is looking forward to a major facelift in the coming years, as it is located close to the Kannur International Airport project site. Various projects are in the pipeline to improve the town´s infrastructure to cater to the anticipated upsurge of people and traffic.
