The Assam government is in talks with the Union Ministry of Highways, Road Transport and Shipping to draw up a roadmap for connecting India with Bhutan by constructing an international highway via Assam´s BTAD area. Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said that the proposed highway would prove vital in improving trade and commerce between the two nations.
Two rounds of talks have been held between state officials and the Centre for strengthening road connectivity with the neighbouring country.
