The one side carriageway of the eight-lane Hero Honda Chowk flyover has finally opened providing a relief to the commuters heading towards sector-10, Kadipur, Sultanpu, Jhajjar.
Manohar Lal Khattar, Chief Minister, Haryana inaugurated the flyover on Monday. With the opening of this stretch, commuters can now take a direct route route from Hero Honda Chowk without passing through the Kherki Daula Toll Plaza.
The stretch would ease the expressway’s biggest traffic snarls at National Highway-48. Khattar said, “At the same time vehicles going towards sector 10, Kadipur, Basai, Jhajjar and Sultanpur won’t have to cross Kherki Daula toll Plaza to take the U-turn. Similarly, commuters going to place like Jaipur, Ajmer, Ahmedabad and Mumbai would also benefit.”
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) had proposed the 1.4 km long eight-lane flyover project to resolve the load of vehicles on the stretch and facilitate a smooth flow of long distance traffic. The flyover is a part of three-layered crossing involving the surface road, and an underpass under construction and the flyover at Hero- Honda Chowk. However, till now with only the four lane underpass at HH Chowk on Old Gurgaon, the road is still being built with the expectation of completion by the year-end.
