The national flag carrier’s expanded schedule includes new Rajasthan routes and increased frequencies to Bali and Kuala Lumpur.

Air India has announced a significant expansion of its domestic and short-haul international network with the addition of 174 weekly flights under its northern winter schedule, effective October 26. Operated by its single-aisle fleet, the expanded schedule is designed to meet seasonal demand and improve connectivity to high-traffic destinations across India and Southeast Asia.

On the international front, Air India will increase frequencies on two key short-haul routes. Starting November 15, the Delhi-Kuala Lumpur service will expand from seven to ten weekly flights. Similarly, the Delhi-Denpasar (Bali) route will see an increase from seven to ten weekly flights, starting December 1. These additions are expected to support growing demand for leisure and business travel between India and Southeast Asia.

Domestically, the airline is introducing new routes and increasing frequencies across several states. Rajasthan will see a notable uplift, with Air India launching new daily services between Delhi and Jaipur (three times daily) and Delhi and Jaisalmer (twice daily). Existing routes such as Delhi-Udaipur, Mumbai-Jaipur, Mumbai-Udaipur, and Mumbai-Jodhpur will also see frequency enhancements, offering more options for travellers during the festive and tourist season.

In Madhya Pradesh, Air India will increase flights between Delhi and Indore to four times daily, and between Delhi and Bhopal to three times daily. Mumbai-Indore will also be upgraded to twice daily. Gujarat will benefit from additional connectivity as well, with Mumbai-Bhuj and Delhi-Rajkot both increasing to two daily flights.

More Flights on Domestic Routes

Beyond these regional additions, Air India is also boosting frequencies on several trunk and tier-II routes. Delhi will see increased services to Varanasi, Raipur, Port Blair, Aurangabad, Guwahati, and Nagpur, while Mumbai will offer more flights to Dehradun, Patna, and Amritsar. These enhancements are expected to ease travel congestion and improve access to key business and leisure destinations.

The winter expansion coincides with the near-completion of Air India’s retrofit programme for its legacy Airbus A320neo aircraft. Of the 27 aircraft undergoing upgrades, 26 have already been retrofitted with brand-new cabin interiors featuring business class, premium economy, and economy class. Combined with other modern single-aisle aircraft, Air India now operates over 100 A320 Family aircraft with enhanced interiors across more than 80 domestic and short-haul international routes.

The airline said the expanded schedule and upgraded fleet will deliver a significantly improved travel experience, while supporting regional tourism, trade, and business travel during the peak winter season.
