The carrier has deployed A350 and B787 aircraft on the high-demand route, as well as restored services across Birmingham and Gatwick.

Air India has announced the addition of a fourth daily flight between Delhi and London (Heathrow) as part of its Northern Winter 2025 schedule, effective October 26. The move increases the airline’s frequency on the route from 24 to 28 weekly flights, adding 1,196 seats each way per week and reinforcing its position as the largest carrier between India and the UK.

All flights on the Delhi–London (Heathrow) route will be operated by Air India’s new Airbus A350-900 and Boeing 787-9 aircraft, offering three cabin classes: business class, premium economy and economy class. The airline will deploy two A350s and two 787s daily, ensuring consistent availability of its flagship widebody products.

Air India currently operates 61 weekly flights between India and the UK, deploying 18,066 seats per week in one direction, translating to nearly 1.7 million seats annually. The carrier connects five Indian cities—Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad and Amritsar—to London (Heathrow), London (Gatwick) and Birmingham.

The expanded schedule coincides with Air India’s rollout of upgraded onboard and ground services. All Delhi-London flights now offer complimentary WiFi connectivity and inflight entertainment across cabins, with over 3,000 hours of content, including the largest library of Indian programming. Premium travellers benefit from complimentary lounge access at London (Heathrow), with options including the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge, Lufthansa Business Lounge, Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounge and United Club Lounge. Business Class and Premium Economy guests also receive amenity kits, luxury bedding and redesigned serviceware.

In addition to the Delhi-London expansion, Air India has reinstated and optimised services across its UK network. The Mumbai-London (Heathrow) route continues to operate double daily, while Bengaluru-London (Heathrow) has been restored to a full seven-times-weekly schedule. Ahmedabad-London services, which were temporarily relocated to Heathrow in July 2025, have now returned to Gatwick, operating three times a week. Amritsar-London (Gatwick) and Delhi-Birmingham have both been restored to three-times-weekly operations, while Amritsar-Birmingham continues at the same frequency.

The expansion is part of Air India’s five-year transformation programme, Vihaan.AI, launched after its return to Tata Sons in 2022.
