The newly launched route connects Dehradun directly with Bengaluru, Air India Express’s largest domestic hub, while offering seamless one-stop connectivity to 18 additional cities across India.

Air India Express has commenced operations from Uttarakhand with the launch of daily direct flights between Dehradun and Bengaluru, marking a significant expansion of its domestic network. The inaugural flight was flagged off on Monday by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at Dehradun Airport, in the presence of senior government officials and airline executives.

Speaking at the launch, Chief Minister Dhami described the new service as a milestone for civil aviation in the state. “Enhanced connectivity to Bengaluru will provide a significant boost to tourism, trade, and investment opportunities in Uttarakhand, while also strengthening links for students, professionals, and entrepreneurs with one of India’s most dynamic cities.”

The new route connects Dehradun directly with Bengaluru, Air India Express’s largest domestic hub, and offers onward one-stop connectivity to 18 additional cities, including Chennai, Goa, Kochi, Kozhikode, Mangaluru, Pune, Ranchi and Visakhapatnam.

Aloke Singh, Managing Director, Air India Express, said, “We are delighted to commence operations from Dehradun, our 58th station, with daily direct flights to Bengaluru, our largest domestic hub. This is the third new station launched this month, following Ahmedabad and Chandigarh, underscoring the rapid expansion of our network.”

The daily service departs Dehradun at 1630 hrs and arrives in Bengaluru at 1930 hrs, with the return leg departing Bengaluru at 1250 hrs and reaching Dehradun at 1600 hrs. The route is operated by a Boeing 737-8 aircraft featuring a livery inspired by ‘Aipan’, Uttarakhand’s traditional art form, as part of the airline’s ‘Tales of India’ initiative celebrating regional culture.

Air India Express, a Tata enterprise and subsidiary of Air India, currently operates over 500 daily flights across 41 domestic and 17 international airports, with a fleet of 115 aircraft. The airline continues to scale up its operations, offering passengers a personalised travel experience through its digital platforms, loyalty benefits and curated holiday packages.

The launch also coincides with the airline’s ‘Book Direct’ campaign, which encourages travellers to book via its website and mobile app for access to exclusive discounts, zero convenience fees, and promotional offers for students, senior citizens and armed forces personnel.
