The carrier will operate daily flights to Bengaluru and five weekly flights to Delhi from NMIA starting December 25, scaling up services to twice‑daily flights on both routes from January 1, 2026.
Air India Express has announced that it will begin operations from the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) on December 25, the first day of commercial services at the new hub. The airline will connect NMIA to Bengaluru and Delhi.
The carrier, India’s first international value airline, will operate daily flights to Bengaluru and five weekly flights to Delhi from NMIA starting December 25. From January 1, 2026, services will be scaled up to twice‑daily flights on both routes, strengthening connectivity between Navi Mumbai and India’s two largest domestic hubs.
Aloke Singh, Managing Director of Air India Express, said, “We are happy to work with the airport as it opens up capacity for Mumbai and its catchment area, putting one of India’s largest transport hubs back on a rapid growth trajectory. We will offer direct connectivity to Bengaluru and New Delhi, and seamless onward connections on both AIX and AI networks. Going forward, we will add more flights in a phased manner as we expand our operations at Navi Mumbai.”
Air India Express already operates over 130 weekly flights from Mumbai and more than 90 weekly flights from Pune. From December 1, the airline will also launch services from Nagpur, with twice‑daily flights to Bengaluru.
The new NMIA services will complement Air India Express’ expanding network from Bengaluru, where the airline now operates over 530 weekly flights to domestic and international destinations, including Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Bangkok, Jeddah, Kuwait, and Riyadh.
The launch of operations at NMIA highlights the airport’s role in easing congestion at Mumbai’s existing hub and supporting India’s aviation growth trajectory. With Air India Express among the first carriers to commit to services, NMIA is positioned as a critical node in the country’s transport infrastructure and regional connectivity strategy.
