Union Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh said the Indian airport sector is likely to attract $12.1 billion worth of investment during the 12th Plan period. Out of this, the minister expects around $9.3 billion from the private sector. These investments are envisaged for the construction of new airports, expansion and modernisation of existing airports and development of low cost airports.
