On the proposed major port at Dugarajapatnam in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh, RITES has submitted a feasibility report. The port is planned to be built at an estimated cost of Rs 9,600 crore.
Chairman of Kolkata Port RS Kahlon said this at Visakhapatnam Port Trust on the occasion of the port entering the eighth decade of operations. Kahlon is also the in-charge of the Visakhapatnam port.
Vizag port started functioning on October 7, 1933. He added that further steps will be taken in the process to set up the proposed major port.
He said the Visakhapatnam Port Trust (VPT) will have a stake in the proposed Durgarajapuram major port.
