Bangalore Metro to chug through tunnel

Though Namma Metro is preparing for a June-launch of services between Magadi Road and Mysore Road on the East-West Corridor, for the first time in the history of the Bengaluru Metro project, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) will run a train through a tunnel on March 12. The train will be operated on the 4.5-km tunnel between Cubbon Park station and Magadi Road station.The train will be operated at a snail´s pace for its maiden trip on the underground route. After the train emerges out of the tunnel, trial runs for it will commence on the 6.4-km stretch between Magadi Road and Mysore Road.
