Sindoor Mittal is Director, Welspun Renewables Energy Pvt. Ltd. She started her leadership journey at a very early age. At the age of 21, Sindoor was the youngest management graduate from ISB, Hyderabad. Today she is a Director of Welspun Energy Limited, a major player in the energy sector in India and the largest solar energy developer in the country.
As a Director of Welspun Renewables Energy Private Limited, Sindoor is responsible for strategy, leadership development, and commissioning of the largest capacity of solar and wind energy projects to meet a 1.75 GW target in the next three years. In her strategic endeavour, she has enabled the organisation to commission 328 MW of renewable energy plants till date, the largest capacity in India in a short span of only four years. She has built a high-performing team and partnerships with global technology companies and system integrators from the energy sector. She believes that the combination of a cohesive team with a strong focus on execution is the key to creating a successful energy company.
Sindoor started her career with a $500 million private equity fund. Her urge to become an entrepreneur soon found its way into her quitting the job and starting her first business at the age of 24. In her early years of business she learnt that attitude is what defines the winners from the rest and a relentless desire to make a change in the world is what sees one through the challenges that one encounters.
Today she relentlessly pursues this belief by empowering people and mentoring them to realise this goal. Apart from her business responsibilities, Sindoor is keenly involved in the company´s Corporate Social Responsibility endeavour, which focuses on providing education, clean environment, and health to the communities in which they work. She has been a national swimming champion and captain of the Indian swimming contingent at Asia Pacific.
