Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar plans to complete the proposed Rs 8,000 crore metro rail project in Patna by 2016.
Reports indicate that the state government would ask Rail India Technical and Economic Service (RITES) to conduct a survey on the proposed project, which may cover a distance of 40 kilometre.
The survey is expected to be completed within four months with no further delay and following this the construction of metro rail may be started. Prem Kumar, urban development minister admitted that the Metro Rail project in Patna was delayed.
It is learnt that the state cabinet gave its clearance for the project and following this the urban development minister of the state also passed the project.
