Bollinger to build another 6 Coast Guard cutters

In the US, the Bollinger Shipyards of Lockport has a $250.7 million contract to build six more fast response cutters for the Coast Guard.

The Coast Guard said in a news release on September 24 that it had ordered the cutters for delivery in 2016. They bring the total number of the boats under contract with Bollinger to 24, and the contract’s total value so far to $1.1 billion.

Seven of the 154-foot boats have been delivered to the Coast Guard, and six have been commissioned. The seventh is to be commissioned in Key West, Floridaa in November.
