Set in 44,000 sq. ft, the Mumbai facility is built to accommodate up to six full-flight simulators, with training operations set to commence in the first quarter of calendar year 2026.
CAE Simulation Training Private Limited (CSTPL), a joint venture between InterGlobe Enterprises and CAE, has announced the launch of its new state-of-the-art pilot training centre in Mumbai, marking its third commercial aviation facility in India.
Spanning 44,000 square feet, the centre is designed to house up to six full-flight simulators (FFS). Operations are scheduled to begin in the first quarter of calendar year 2026, with two Airbus A320 FFS initially in place.
“The new Mumbai centre expands CSTPL’s ability to meet the rapidly growing demand for professional pilots in India, estimated at 20,000 over the next decade,” said Michel Azar-Hmouda, Division President for Commercial Aviation, CAE.
“This six-bay facility reflects our commitment to bringing world-class training closer to India’s aviation hubs, enhancing both training excellence and operational efficiency for our airline partners.”
Aditya Pande, CEO, InterGlobe Enterprises, added, “We are delighted to extend CSTPL’s footprint to Mumbai, complementing our existing centres in Greater Noida, Gurugram and Bengaluru. InterGlobe and CAE remain committed to building a robust aviation ecosystem that supports India’s current and future pilot training needs.”
Founded in 2013, CSTPL combines CAE’s global expertise in simulation technologies with InterGlobe’s deep-rooted presence in Indian aviation. The JV currently operates three commercial aviation training centres with a combined capacity of 23 FFS.
According to CAE’s 2025 Aviation Talent Forecast, the Asia-Pacific region will require approximately 98,000 new pilots by 2034. India, now the world’s fastest-growing airline market, is expected to play a pivotal role in this surge.
The Mumbai centre will offer comprehensive pilot training programmes across Airbus, ATR and Boeing platforms, including type rating, recurrent training and proficiency checks. All training will be conducted in accordance with standards set by India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
