Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation KC Venugopal has stated that 24 airports have been identified for establishment of cargo terminals by carrying out minor modifications to the redundant passenger terminals.

These 24 airports are Jammu & Kashmir’s Srinagar,
Punjab’s Amritsar, Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow and Varanasi
Rajasthan’s Jaipur, Gujarat’s Ahmedabad and Surat, Tamil Nadu’s Chennai, Coimbatore, Trichy and Madurai
Kerala’s Trivandrum and Calicut, Karnataka’s Mangalore
Maharashtra’s Pune and Aurangabad, Andhra Pradesh’s Vizag, West Bengal’s Kolkata, Odisha’s Bhubaneshwar,
Bihar’s Gaya, Goa, Jharkhand’s Ranchi, Chhatisgarh’s Raipur and Assam’s Guwahati.

AirportsAuthority of India has requested the Government of Chhattisgarh for providing 2,206 acres of land for development of RaipurAirport in phases. 1,158 acres for Phase I development and 1,048 acres for Phase II development.
