Punj Lloyd secures Rs 2.75 bn contract
Punj Lloyd has bagged a cross country pipeline contract worth Rs 2.75 billion. The company received the order for setting up of various infrastructure facilities. IL&FS bags UP rural electrification project
In Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh, IL&FS Engineering and Construction Company has received an order from Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam for rural electrification (RE) works. Under the central government's Rajeev Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana scheme, the turnkey project has been awarded to IL&FS and is valued at Rs 149.68 crore.
Indo-Tibetan Border Police to get Rs 12.6 bn
Union Minister of State for Home RPN Singh has said that the government is to sanction Rs 12.6 billion for construction activity at Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) posts at various places. The construction activity includes accommodations for ITBP jawans, the Minister said at the 52nd ITBP Raising Day parade in Delhi.

Govt may strike a deal on Rs 72,000-cr rapid rail project
India's Rs 72,000-crore rapid rail connectivity project is set to enter the next stage as the Union government and the State governments concerned likely to reach an agreement on cost-sharing of the project. The rapid rail project is to connect Delhi to Panipat (Haryana), Alwar (Rajasthan) and Meerut (Uttar Pradesh).
Govt to build godowns to roll out food law
The Union government on October 17 allowed construction of intermediary godowns under employment guarantee scheme MGNREGA and has allocated Rs 450 crore for creating 15 lakh tonne of storage capacity across the country by March-end.
Work begins on Rs 108 cr flyover in Kochi
For the Rs 108-crore Edappally flyover project in Kochi, preparatory works have started. The Kerala Public Works Department (PWD) has begun the land levelling work. The three-month preparatory work will also include the construction of two service roads and new bridges on either side of the existing Edappally canal bridge.
Work paced up on e’way, underpasses in Noida
In Noida area, work has been paced up on pending infrastructure projects like Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad (FNG) expressway, two underpasses, and a multi-level parking lot among others, said the Noida Authority. The Authority on October 16 asked its engineers to speed-up work on all projects, and improve functioning to dispose off public complaints on daily basis.
Govt firms’ Rs 3 lakh cr surplus money to be used for infra
The government-owned companies have a surplus cash of more than Rs 3 lakh crore. Now the Union government is planning to utilise this surplus amount for executing infrastructure projects and investing in expansion of such projects.
