Danish delegation visits APM Terminals CFS

Nick Haekkerup, Minister for Trade and Economic Affairs, Denmark and Freddie Svane, Denmark's Ambassador to India, along with an eight member delegation, visited the Dadri facility APM Terminals India recently. The visit provided the delegation an opportunity to tour the APM Terminals facility in North India and understand its role in lifting global trade.

Japanese firms to build industrial township near Chennai

Japanese companies will build manufacturing facilities near Chennai. Japanese companies- Hitachi Automotive Systems, Ajinomoto and Takasago International Corporation are among the early players to enter into agreement with Ascendas and a Japanese consortium in setting up a 1,450-acre integrated industrial township, 50 km south of Chennai. Ascendas said that it has entered into agreements with the three companies to take up space at the township.

The Union Minister of shipping GK Vasan laid the foundation of the Parangipettai Navtex Transmitting Station at a function in Chennai recently. The Minister said that as part of the government´s obligations under the Safety of Life at Sea Convention, his Ministry has asked its technical arm of the Directorate General of Lighthouses & Lightships (DGLL) to provide for continuous Navigational Telex (Navtex) coverage of Indian waters.

Karnataka to give Rs 8,000 cr farm loans

The Karnataka government has decided to give loans of Rs 8,000 crore to 20 lakh farmers in the state, said the State Co-operation Minister HS Mahadeva Prasad on November 17. The State government has already covered 10.50 lakh farmers and distributed Rs 4,400 crore.
