Areva T&D India bags contract
Areva T&D India said its transmission business, now a part of Alstom Grid, has bagged a Rs 400-crore contract from Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam to design and build a 765-kV turnkey substation at Anta near Kota.
Powergrid to double new lines
Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) plans to install about 65,000 circuit km (ckm) of transmission lines during the 12th Five Year Plan (2012-2017), which is more than twice the likely installation in the current Plan.
