The Ministry of Power has decided to cancel the two-year-long bidding process for two ultra mega power plants (UMPPs) in Tamil Nadu and Odisha. The decision comes in the wake of private companies pulling out of the process, with public sector units NTPC and NHPC emerging as the only bidders.

Tata Power buys Ideal´s 540 MW plant in Nagpur

State-run power gear maker BHEL has bagged a 16.96 million euro contract for a thermal power project in Turkey, the company has said. ´The company has bagged a contract for rehabilitation of three units of Electrostatic Precipitators for the 430 MW Tuncbilek Thermal Power Project in Turkey on EPC basis,´ BHEL said in a statement.

Alstom T&D India has bagged an order of about Rs 151 crore from Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Ltd (RRVPNL) to supply a 400/220 kV substation in Bhadla and expand the existing 400/220 kV substation in Bikaner.
