Gammon Infrastructure Projects (GIPL) has bagged a Rs 1,684 crore project from National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for widening Vijaywada-Gundugolanu section of National Highway in Andhra Pradesh. The 135-km Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE) that is intended to link Haryana’s Palwal town with Uttar Pra­desh’s Kundli, is facing further delay.While the cabinet committee on infrastructure and the Public Private Partnership Appraisal Committee (PPAC) approved toll rates on par with those on national highways and the Western Peripheral Expressway (WPE), the Road Ministry insists on charging 50 percent more.
