Rajasthan to set up regulatory body for roads
To enhance the state's road network, the Rajasthan government will set up a regulatory body on lines of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). The authority will be mandated to oversee the road construction and get the necessary approval for the concessionaire.
MoRTH to try new technologies
To encourage adoption of new materials and technology in road construction, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has formulated a policy where new technology can be adopted through pilot projects.

MoRTH to upgrade Khongsang Tamenglong road
Ministry of Road Transport and Highways plans rehabilitation and upgradation of Khongsang Tamenglong road (NH 137) covering approximately 40 km length to two lane with paved shoulder configuration in the state of Manipur.
MPRDC to undertake construction of 18 ROBs
Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation Ltd (MPRDC) plans construction and development of 18 ROBs and 9 LHS on BOT (Toll) basis. The project is estimated to cost Rs 674.00 crore.
Moisture-resistant roads
Bitumen consumption in India was 4.5 million tonne in 2011-12 costing Rs 18,000 crore (current value). Nearly 80 per cent valued at Rs 14,400 crore used for resurfacing, is the annual binder loss from the existing roads due to leaching and stripping of the bitumen binder.
