Adhunik Metaliks has bagged Greentech Environment Excellence award 2014 for the third consecutive year. The award was presented in ´Gold Category´ in Metals and Mining Sector. In the previous years (2011 and 2012), the company has bagged the same award in silver category. New technology to produce biofuel
A new technique that produces gasoline-like fuels from farm and forestry waste could open up new markets for plant-based fuels beyond existing diesel substitutes, scientists say. The process developed by chemists at the University of California, Davis makes gasoline-like fuels from cellulosic materials such as farm and forestry waste using a new process.
Vodafone-as green steps
Vodafone India has moved 265 towers onto green technology in financial year 2012-13, taking their total number to 2,700, according to the company. As per the report, Vodafone had 2,435 of its sites on green technologies out of 1,10,004 total mobile towers that company directly manages.

The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) has stated that the Insurance Repository System was launched on September 16, 2013 with the objective to provide policy holders a facility to keep insurance policies in electronic form and to undertake changes, modifications and revisions in the insurance policy with speed and accuracy in order to bring about efficiency, transparency and cost reduction in the issuance and maintenance of insurance policies.
