In Haryana, the State Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has approved construction of a flyover at Maharana Pratap Chowk in Gurgaon. Once the flyover comes into being, it could provide a great relief to commuters. The area witnessed regular traffic snarls, especially during rush hour. Haryana Public Works (Building and Roads) Department will construct the flyover at an estimated cost of Rs 126.14 crore.

A PWD spokesperson said the proposed flyover will be constructed on the stretch from Signature Tower to Atul Kataria Chowk. It will start near MDI gate and end at the gate of Sector 17. The flyover was direly needed as the commuters have to face long snarls at Maharana Pratap Chowk on a daily basis.

PWD officials said once the flyover is constructed, the traffic on MG Road — from local Bus Stand to IFFCO Chowk — will become seamless. The feasibility study for constructing underpasses at Signature Tower Chowk, IFFCO Chowk and Rajeev Chowk on Delhi Gurgaon Expressway is also being undertaken to make these junctions signal-free. These had cost about Rs 66 crore.

One of the ROBs was constructed near Basai village, second in Hailey Mandi and third in Daultabad village. These ROBs have also come as a big relief to the commuters who earlier had to wait for hours for to cross the tracks.
