The West Bengal government founded Durgapur Projects Ltd aims to develop infrastructure for various large, medium and small scale industries in and around Durgapur and also at other places within the state.
Incorporated on September 6, 1961, the body consists of coke oven batteries, bye-products plant, gas grid project, thermal power plant and water works. It is under the administrative control of the Department of Power and Non-conventional Energy Sources, West Bengal government.
Weekly Insight learns that the state-run body plans to engage a contractor for transportation of crushed coal from existing coal yard to the 7th unit coal yard.
