The three municipal corporations in Delhi received a cumulative allocation of Rs 5,095.25 crore from Delhi government to implement various civic amenities projects during 2013-14.
This is a cumulative allocation under various forms such as grant-in-aid, basic tax assignment, compensation against parking fees, share in stamp duties.
The state government would release grants-in-aid in three installments of 25 percent, 50 percent and 25 percent, as is the usual practice. Corporations must submit the relevant information for the release of grant-in-aid during the first quarter.
Out of the total grant-in-aid of Rs 3,876.35 crore to the three municipal corporations, an amount of Rs 969.09 crore was supposed to be released as 1st installment.
Of this, Rs 795.12 crore (82 percent) has been released by the Delhi government as first installment. In addition to this, Rs 224.31 crore has also been sanctioned by the divisional commissioner office towards share in stamp duty.
The transport department has also disbursed Rs 13.71 crore to the corporations towards compensation against parking fees.
The state government asked all the civic bodies to keep the city clean and meet the general sanitation standards.
