This reform is part of a broader digitisation drive aimed at accelerating approvals, minimising manual intervention, and enhancing transparency for students, pilots, and aviation stakeholders.
India’s aviation regulator, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), has launched auto-generation of computer numbers for flight crew (FC) candidates applying through the Pariksha portal, effective October 16.
The initiative leverages DigiLocker to streamline the application process, eliminate manual document submission, and enhance ease of doing business across aviation training workflows.
In the first phase, the facility will be available to candidates who have passed Class 10 and 12 examinations from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), subject to successful verification via DigiLocker. The system will automatically allot a computer number upon submission of the online application, in line with DGCA’s eligibility criteria.
Subsequent phases will extend the facility to candidates from other recognised boards whose academic certificates are available in DigiLocker.
This reform is part of a broader digitisation push led by Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu, Union Minister of Civil Aviation, aimed at modernising processes across DGCA and the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) through the government’s aviation services platforms such as eGCA.
The goal is to ensure faster approvals, reduced human intervention, and greater transparency for students, pilots, and aviation stakeholders.
