In Pune, the district administration has ordered a fresh survey of the stretch between toll plaza at Shindewadi and the beginning of the highway near the Katraj tunnel. This was done in connection with land acquisition for a project, said the Pune District Collector Vikas Deshmukh on June 20. Lok Sabha MP from Baramati, Supriya Sule during the day held a meeting of villagers from Khed Shivapur with the district collector to hear grievances put forward by the villagers.

Sule said whether it is six-laning of the highway stretch or the underpass for the Khed Shivapur, the villagers should be taken into confidence. Deshmukh said he would ensure that villagers would not be on the receiving end while completing the project. The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) project Director Rajeshkumar Koundal was also present.

The villagers demanded there should be no additional land acquisition from Khed Shivapur for the project of six-laning of the stretch of the highway which falls under Mumbai-Bangalore National Highway.
