Punjab and Germany are all set to join hands to create a ´Renewable Energy Equipment Hub´ in the state to harness the huge potential available in rooftop solar and biomass power.
A delegation of Indo-German Energy Programme, led by Director Winfried Damm, called on Bikram Singh Majithia, Punjab´s New and Renewable Energy Minister and apprised him about efforts to facilitate technology transfer and investment by German companies in the RE sector to India, an official spokesman said. Damm offered to facilitate linkage between Punjab and German renewable energy industry to create the RE equipment hub, besides bringing in experienced German companies to execute high standard RE projects in the state. Making a strong case of huge potential for investment available in rooftop solar and biomass power in Punjab, Majithia requested the delegation, with a proven track record in the sector.
