Ramesh Nair, COO – Business & International Director, JLL India has been appointed to the Global Regulatory Board of RICS, becoming the first Asian to take on this role. Nair will be part of a team that will formulate and implement regulatory policies and strategies related to the global real estate industry.
Commenting on his appointment, Nair said, "I am delighted to be a member on the RICS Global Regulatory Board. My key focus would be towards helping advance the strategy, governance and enforcement of RICS professional and ethical standards in relation to the different global circumstances and real estate ecosystems in which it operates. I will also be involved in embedding global regulation consistently, especially in real estate markets which have semi or low transparency." Founded in 1868, RICS is the worlds leading self-regulatory professional body for qualification and standards in land, property, construction and associated activities. RICS has 185,000 members and a presence across 146 countries. Its regulatory board leads regulatory strategy and implementation across all world regions, working with boards and groups across RICS to ensure that the organisation leads the way in quality assurance of standards.
