Under the Rajiv Awas Yojana, the Union government has given approval to include Ambala, Sirsa and Rohtak towns of Haryana to build 3,862 houses at a cost of Rs 250 crore in the three towns.
This was disclosed by the Rohtak MP Deepender Singh Hooda recently. He said that under the scheme, 1,518 houses would be constructed in Rohtak at a cost of Rs 95.89 crore. Of which the Union government would share Rs 47.94 crore. In Sirsa, of Rs 94.99 crore would be spent on construction of 2,144 houses. Of the su, Rs 44.81 crore would be borne by union government and remaining Rs 50.18 crore by the Haryana government.
He added that a sum of Rs 59.83 crore would be spent on construction of 200 houses in Ambala, Rs 29.91 crore would be borne by the union government and similar amount by the state government. Foundation stones of these projects would be laid soon, he said.
