As per the Planning Commission's suggestion, the Union Roads Ministry is workÂing on reviving the Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) mode of road bidding. The reworked EPC mode is to be announced within two to three months. In the new mode, proÂjects will be awarded outÂright and ofÂficial role will be reduced to the deÂciding specÂiÂfiÂcatÂions and quality. RoÂad proÂjects may soon be awÂarÂded in a true contract moÂdel-lock, stock and barrel to the lowest bidders.
