Govt to spend Rs 430 bn on green energy corridor

The Union government plans to spend Rs 43,000-crore on ‘green energy corridor’ project to facilitate flow of renewable energy into the national grid. Germany is to assist India in the project with € one billion as soft credit.

According to Secretary, Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, Ratan P Watal the government is committed to provide a conducive environment for harnessing offshore wind energy in the country.
